Our Brunneras or Caucasian Forget-me-nots with variegated white foliage. Like Brunnera macrophylla 'Variegata', with forget-me-not flowers and leaves randomly variegated with cream white, some varieties of brunneras remarkably brighten up cool and semi-shaded areas. The spring flowering of these perennial ground covers, blue or sometimes white, forms a mist over a carpet of elegant leaves. In the case of Brunnera 'Dawson s White' for example, the fine clusters of blue flowers open on foliage abundantly maculate with white on a pale green background. In the case of 'Hadspen Cream', the very large light green leaves are marginated with cream and white marblings under pure blue flowers. To accompany these fresh woodland plants, consider hostas, bleeding hearts or Euphorbe polychroma, these sturdy perennials appreciate the same environments.
