Similar to buttercups, Trollius belong to the family of ranunculaceae. A perennial plant, in the spring it forms majestic cup-shaped flowers, white, yellow or orange depending on the variety. Globeflowers marks the arrival of better weather. They are easy to grow, they thrive in full sun or partial shade and appreciate rich, moist to wet soils, and they tolerate heavy soils very well. Native to mountains, they are not afraid of the cold. In the garden, they will grow in wet beds, even marshy ones, alongside Astilbes, Hostas, Japanese Irises or Filipendules. The species with yellow or orange flowers go wonderfully well with bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta).

You'll adore them!
