Autumn camellias, also known as Camellia sasanqua, are medium-sized bushes with slow growth. While other camellias bloom in late winter, Camellia sasanqua blooms between autumn and winter. They start flowering in autumn when the summer heat subsides and continue until the first frost. Often fragrant, the flowers last longer if the freezing temperatures are delayed, so it is not uncommon to see them blooming until December and even January. They prefer shade or partial shade in woodland environments. Plant them early in autumn, in a cool and humus-rich soil. Choose a sheltered location, under large trees, in a grove, or against a north-facing wall.

You'll adore them!
