Neoregelias are exotic indoor plants with rosette formations. These tropical bromeliads captivate with their glossy and vividly coloured leaves. The most common variety, the Neoregelia ‘Fireball’, is a true gem with its bright red leaves forming a compact rosette. Native to the tropical forests of South America, particularly Brazil, these trendy plants have found their way into our cozy interiors.

Neoregelias offer a remarkable diversity, with over 5000 cultivars. The Neoregelia carolinae stands out with its striking pink centre that appears during flowering. With its cream and green stripes, the Neoregelia ‘Tricolor’ is particularly graphic and bright indoors. For a wilder aesthetic, The Neoregelia ‘Zebrina’ displays zebra-like patterns while the Neoregelia concentrica impresses with its large rosettes and metallic sheen.

These plants remain compact (20 to 50 cm in diameter), with rosettes made up of rigid leaves. They thrive in bright but filtered light, such as that from an east or west-facing window. The growing medium should be light and well-draining, ideally a mix for orchids or bromeliads. Water moderately by moistening the centre of the rosette and allowing it to dry out between waterings. Maintain a temperature between 18 and 24°C for optimal growth.
