Mesclun seeds

Originally from Provence, Mesclun refers to the mixture of young salad leaves.  In this case, it is a blend of young lettuce, rocket, endive, lamb's lettuce, spinach, purslane, or even chard, cabbage, or mustard leaves.  The combinations vary endlessly and are made according to the desired degree of sweetness, bitterness, crunchiness, and strength.  Mesclun is now cultivated with ready-made mixes in the vegetable garden or on the balcony.
