Our selection of Phylica or Cape Myrtle. The Phylica arborea and Phylica ericoides are evergreen bushes native to Southern Africa. These plants are characterized by their fine, soft-to-the-touch foliage and delicate flowering. These Cape Myrtles thrive in mild or Mediterranean climates. The Phylica arborea, with its dense, bushy habit and fine foliage, is particularly suited to coastal areas due to its tolerance to sea spray. In mild climates, it can reach up to 2 meters in height and forms a true ornamental small bush. The Phylica ericoides, on the other hand, stands out for its resemblance to classic heathers. It is adorned with tiny cream-white flowers in winter, clustered in silky inflorescences. More compact, it is perfect for borders, rock gardens, or container cultivation.

Phylica prefer conditions close to their native medium: a light, well-drained, and slightly acidic soil. These plants thrive in full sun and tolerate drought once well-established. Not very hardy, they must be protected from severe frosts. In cooler climates, opt for container cultivation to shelter them in winter.
