The Snap Bean is generally fleshy or flat and wide and can be consumed entirely, both seeds and pods, even when ripe. It does not form any string. The pods are typically green, like the Bean Phénomène, but can also be yellow – butter beans like the Bean Goldfield – or even amethyst-coloured – Bean Blauhilde. Snap beans thrive in the sun and light soils and will be very productive without requiring any special care.
