Centaurea or cornflower is an annual plant that is easy to grow. Once widespread in the wild, it will bring a rustic touch to natural gardens. The bicoloured flowers are blue, pink or white, depending on the variety, and bloom throughout the summer. Plant centaureas in sunny spots with well-drained and rich soil.
