The Columbines or Aquilegias are well known for their abundant flowering and their lightness, but they are also versatile perennials. They grow almost everywhere, in shade as well as in the sun, they are content with poor soils but prefer light and fresh soils. Gorgeous in spring, they fade at the beginning of summer and go into dormancy to protect themselves from drought. They readily self-seed in flowerbeds if the stems are not cut, sometimes revealing natural hybrids with unique shapes and colors.

You'll adore them!
