The Arnica, particularly the Arnica montana, are mountainous perennial medicinal plants whose yellow flowers are harvested for their benefits in local applications to reduce bruising. The genus Arnica includes about 30 species of perennial plants belonging to the Asteraceae family, native to the mountains of temperate regions of North America, such as the Arnica chamissonis, Asia, and Europe. These plants are easy to grow and can be identified by their yellow to orange daisy-like flowers on long stems that come out of a clump of leaves at the base. In the garden, Arnica is also grown for its ornamental interest. You can plant it alongside other medicinal plants like Chamomile or Calendula officinalis, with aromatic plants and even in your sunny rockeries because its flowering is quite decorative.
