Our range of winter Camellias, to enjoy magnificent flowering in the heart of winter. Among all the camellias, these are mainly Camellia japonica and Camellia × williamsii. These are evergreen bushes that brighten gardens from January to March, depending on the variety. Their large, single or double white, pink, or red flowers bloom when few other plants are in flower.

Among the earliest is Camellia ‘Spring Festival’, remarkable for flowering as early as late January, with very delicate, light pink flowers. Camellia ‘Jury’s Yellow’ offers double cream flowers with a soft yellow centre against glossy dark green foliage in February-March. Camellia japonica 'Nobilissima', a very old variety with peony-like white flowers, blooms in the heart of winter. The ‘Bob’s Tinsie’ cultivar has charming and unique small red flowers with a golden centre, which open as early as January. Also discover 'Marie-Galante', its large pale pink flowers of variable shape, but always double, appearing from February.

Winter camellias should be planted in partial shade, in acidic, humus-bearing, light, and well-drained soil, sheltered from cold winds. Water regularly during dry periods, especially in summer, and avoid using hard water. Avoid overly sunny exposures, which can compromise their flowering. Their buds can be damaged by late frosts.
