agastaches are tall perinials which appreciate full sun. They bloom in summer and produce very honeyed spike flowers. From the same family as lavender and lemon balm, their leaves create a very aromatic scent when crushed.  Although they need a reasonable amount of water an excess amount in winter can be fatal to them. Planted in a wild-looking meadow garden or simply in a summer bed, accompanied by gauras, catmints, and sedums, they offer a remarkable spectacle.
