Podocarpus are evergreen conifers belonging to the Podocarp family, which is dedicated to them. They show fairly rapid growth and can develop into 1-metre (3 feet)-high ground cover shrubs, like the Podocarpus lawrencii 'Blue Gem', or form tall trees that reach heights of 50 mettres (164 feet), such as the Podocarpus elatus. They are native to the Southern Hemisphere and are distributed from humid tropical regions to Japan and Mexico. They prefer warm temperate climates and are generally averse to severe frosts.

You'll adore them!
