The Vervains, Verbena in Latin, are perennial to biennial plants, with hardiness that varies greatly depending on their geographical origin. From the very famous Buenos Aires Vervain (Verbena bonariensis) with a light form, they can often self-seed in rocky and poor corners of the garden, to the rigid Vervain (Verbena rigida), a ground-covering carpet of flowers that blooms for many months, the Vervain family is rich and very diverse. Other species such as the officinal Vervain (Verbena officinalis) are known for their aromatic and medicinal virtues, as well as the scented Vervain or Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citriodora), known and appreciated for their strong lemon-scented leaves, the latter not being strictly speaking a Vervain.

You'll adore them!
