Pyracantha, also known as Firethorn, is a hardy bush with evergreen foliage. Its sharp thorns make it particularly suitable for creating defensive hedges. It blooms in May-June and is covered with a multitude of small white flowers. In autumn, it reveals a profusion of berries ranging in colour from red to orange, depending on the species. Pyracantha cultivation is easy and adapts well to all types of soil.
