The Tomato is a herbaceous plant whose fruits are cultivated as vegetables. The numerous varieties express their differences through their colours, shapes, or sizes. Whether they are rare, ancient, of the Cocktail, Cherry, Marmande or Roma type, the plants are transplanted into the ground after the last frost, along with peppers and eggplants. Their taste and nutritional qualities are well known, and now their decorative value is also much appreciated. Emblematic of summer, growing tomatoes requires sun and heat. Indeterminate growth varieties require good staking.
