Description

The Agastache Summer Love® is a deciduous semi-shrubby perennial with an upright habit and abundant tubular pink-purple flowers from June to September, which attract a large number of butterflies and pollinating insects.

Its foliage is smooth, greyish-green, highly aromatic, to the extent that some people use it for herbal tea, as it has a scent similar to mint, licorice, and lemon.

At maturity, Agastache Summer Love® can reach a height of 60 cm (24in). The plant is hardy, thrives in sunny locations, and grows in well-draining soil, preferably moist and neutral to slightly alkaline.

It can be found in flower beds, rock gardens, and mixed borders. It adds beauty to summer gardens. Its flowers are perfect for creating dried bouquets. It pairs well with gauras, monardas, salvias nemorosa, and stipa tenuifolia.

Planting and care

The Agastache Summer Love® thrives in the sun, sheltered from cold and humid winds. It is a plant that withstands drought well. It is suitable for any type of well-drained soil, preferably moist and rich. When planting, space the Agastaches 30 cm (12in) apart, as they do not like root competition. Easy to grow, add sand or gravel to the bottom of the planting hole to ensure proper drainage. In spring, trim the faded inflorescences and tidy up the clump.
