Description

Melica altissima 'Atropurpurea', or tall melic grass, is a perennial grass forming a dense tuft with narrow and flexible, light green leaves. It bears purple-brown flower spikes, 15cm (6in) long.

The slightly wild appearance of the spikes is ideal in fresh bouquets.

Hardy and easy to grow, it likes sun or partial shade and grows in any good garden soil.
