Our Michelia range, evergreen bushes and small trees that bring an exotic touch to the garden or terrace. Michelia, closely related to Magnolia, is particularly prized for its bushy habit and its generous, fragrant flowering. One of the most iconic species is Michelia figo. This medium-sized bush produces cup-shaped flowers in creamy or pale yellow hues, with a fragrance reminiscent of ripe bananas. This variety creates a delightfully exotic atmosphere in the garden. Also discover the compact Michelia yunnanensis, native to China, which produces highly fragrant, small cream-white flowers in late winter or early spring. Or Michelia x foggii 'Allspice' with its very fragrant rosy-cream flowers, which blooms from a young age. Michelia champaca, on the other hand, is famous for its golden flowers, whose intense fragrance is used in perfumery, particularly to produce Champaca essential oil.

Michelia plants thrive in well-drained, humus-bearing, slightly acidic soil, in a location sheltered from cold winds. They are generally less cold-hardy than Magnolias, especially Michelia figo and Michelia champaca, which should be grown in containers to protect them during winter.

You'll adore them!
