Our range of aquatic plants for aquariums includes species intended for freshwater tanks that decorate, oxygenate the water and serve as shelter for fish. Elodea or Brazilian Pondweed (Elodea densa) is a submerged plant with flexible stems and bright green leaves used in the background of temperate aquariums: it rapidly consumes nitrates and purifies the water. Indian Toothcup (Rotala indica) forms fine, green clumps that take on a red hue under strong lighting; it is best planted in groups at the front or middle of the aquarium. The vigorous Rotala rotundifolia ‘Green produces very bright, lush green foliage that quickly carpets the bottom of a tank. On the surface, Limnobium laevigatum, a small floating frogbit with small, round waterlily-like leaves, develops pendulous roots that filter the water.

These aquatic plants grow in a fine, nutritious substrate, under lighting suited to each species and in water with stable parameters; the main difficulty lies in controlling the growth of the most vigorous species. Plant the stems in small groups, thin out or divide them over the seasons to keep your aquarium healthy and balanced.
