Our range of native bushes and nativars from France and Europe. These plants from our flora, or their horticultural derivatives, are ideal for creating sustainable gardens that promote biodiversity. Of course, you will need to select the varieties suited to your region. Native species, such as the common dogwood (Cornus sanguinea), with its glowing autumn foliage and black berries, or the hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), with its spring white flowers and autumn red fruits, support local wildlife. The nativars, derived from these species but selected for their aesthetic qualities or resilience, further enrich this selection. They take the form of the black elder ‘Black Lace’ (Sambucus nigra ‘Black Lace’), with its finely cut purple foliage and pink flowers, or the common dogwood ‘Midwinter Fire’ (Cornus sanguinea ‘Midwinter Fire’), prized for its fiery orange-red stems in winter. The hazel (Corylus avellana), known for its hazelnuts and aments, is a familiar sight in our gardens, as is the European spindle (Euonymus europaeus), recognizable by its pink and orange fruits and stunning autumn foliage.
Whether native or nativars, these bushes are perfectly adapted to our climate. They enhance hedges and large shrub borders while providing shelter and food for local wildlife. Hardy and low-maintenance, they require little care once established.
