Received very small but it is still early. It seems to be thriving and already growing within a few days.

Description

Geranium sylvaticum 'Album' or wood cranesbill forms in spring bright bushes of pure white flowers, perched at 60cm (24in) in height. The flower measures about 2cm (1in) in diameter.

This Geranium flowers abundantly in spring from May to June. Its large deciduous leaves are deeply cut.

A perennial and vigorous plant, the Geranium sylvaticum 'Album' grows in shade, it likes coolness and self-seeds spontaneously in soil rich in humus to form magnificent colonies, spectacular in the undergrowth in spring.

Beautiful in the undergrowth, combine it with white blooms and foliage: Holcus mollis Variegatus, Hesperis matronalis Alba or the white bellflower.

Planting and care

Place Geranium Sylvaticum 'Album' in full sun or partial shade in a preferably moist but well-draining soil. To plant, work the soil to a depth of 20cm (8in) by crumbling it well and placing a bottom amendment such as bonemeal in the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, by covering the top of the root ball with 3cm (1in) of soil, backfill and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, it is necessary to water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth.
