Description

Aquilegia vulgaris Powder Blue has double pompom flowers in sky blue sprinkled with white. This columbine will brighten up your garden from May to July. The upright and highly branched stems bear 5 to 15 flowers at their tips. The foliage is tender green, rounded, and often divided into two or three lobes. Standing at a height of 60cm (24in), it self-seeds everywhere, occupying neglected corners.

The columbine is a very hardy perennial. It thrives in partial shade or non-scorching sun, in rich and humus-bearing soil that remains moist.

It will perfectly complement perennial geraniums, ornamental garlic, or bleeding hearts.
