Description

The Cosmic range of Cosmos sulphureus are highly floriferous and have a compact habit; smaller than other cosmos, they reach a height of 30cm (12in), and they tolerate windy conditions well.

Whether in pots, borders, or flower beds, these Cosmos start blooming in June and only disappear with the first frost. The red colour of this variety will bring a sunny touch to your garden.

Cosmos is a charming plant with finely cut foliage, and its flowers symbolize innocence. Their very long flowering period will provide nourishment for your summer bouquets and attract butterflies and bees.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners; upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered place (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before planting them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

Plant the red Cosmos sulphureus in the ground as soon as the last frost has passed. Fertilizing the soil is unnecessary and harmful as it promotes foliage growth and delays flowering. Beware of excessive watering and slugs. Pinching the plant and picking its flowers improves branching.
