The Tomato – Solanum lycopersicum – from the Solanaceae family is a herbaceous plant whose fruits are consumed as vegetables. They come in all colours, shapes, and sizes. Its taste and nutritional qualities are well known and now its decorative value is also appreciated. Emblematic of summer, its cultivation requires lots of sun and heat but not necessarily a lot of space. That's why tomato plants can also be found on balconies or patios.
