Magnolias are grown for their large, often delicately scented flowers, of red, violet, pink, white, yellow, and even black shades depending on the varieties. They are pink and open cup-shaped when upright such as Magnolia x soulangeana or sprengeri ; white and trailing for Magnolia sieboldii or spindle-shaped and purple in Magnolia liliflora Nigra. Magnolias like damp, light, humus-rich soils, they appreciate sun or partial shade, and most of them prefer a sheltered position from cold and dry winds. Find in these pages a wide choice of magnolias, small or large, evergreen or deciduous, with flowers of various colours.
