Made of 60 g/m2 white non-woven polypropylene, this very thick winter fleece provides excellent protection against the cold in severe winters. Treated with UV protection, it is much more resistant to tearing over time. It is also breathable and water-permeable, allowing the crops to breathe while preventing dehydration of the plants. Different sizes are available.

This 60 g/m2 white non-woven polypropylene winter fleece cover for intense winters is treated with UV protection, withstands tearing and the sun's assaults much better over time, and can be reused for several years. It is very thick and suitable for protecting plants in extreme cold. Its air and water permeability allows crops to breathe while preventing plant dehydration. Various dimensions are available. To be installed on a growing tunnel, or cut according to needs for individual protection of frost-sensitive plants.

This particularly thick and sturdy winter fleece cover provides excellent thermal insulation while allowing light to filter through. It has an appearance and flexibility reminiscent of a white honeycomb fabric, but it is a non-biodegradable material that has been treated to withstand the sun's UV rays for several months. It acts as a barrier against bad weather and creates a favourable microclimate, maintaining the accumulated heat around the plant during the day. Its permeable texture ensures good air circulation, limiting the accumulation of moisture produced by evergreen foliage that continues to breathe in winter and preventing the onset of diseases related to excessive humidity. Rainwater also partially infiltrates to reach the plants, thus avoiding excessive drying of the growing substrate, especially for plants grown in pots. Polypropylene is a material that is largely recycled from other products.

It is used in various fields:

  • In agriculture, horticulture, arboriculture, nurseries, and gardens.
  • In greenhouses, on forcing and growth tunnels.
  • In outdoor crops (lettuce, watermelons, melons, potatoes, peppers, etc.).
  • To protect early seedlings outdoors.
  • To advance the flowering and ripening of vegetables and strawberries (don't forget to open the cover during the day to let in pollinating insects).
  • To protect frost-sensitive bushes, both in the ground and in pots.

Detailed features

Directions for use This winter covering for intense winters ensures effective winter protection for all deciduous and even evergreen plants, grown in pots outdoors or even in the open ground. It is also used on forcing and growth tunnels, to protect early sowings, advance flowering and accelerate the ripening of vegetables and fruits. Don't forget to open the covering to let pollinating insects in during the day, then close it in the late afternoon. As part of individual protection for frost-sensitive plants, it is put in place from autumn: simply cut a piece of covering adapted to the size of the plant, wrap it around, then tie the bottom and top of the protection with a cord. Remember to protect the pot if necessary with bubble wrap or multi-layered winter covering. You can ventilate during good weather, when it is not freezing, then close your protection before temperatures drop. Watering is often necessary in winter, especially for evergreen or mild climate plants: always water in mild weather, preferably in the middle of the day, at the base of the plants.
