These autumn flowering hedge plants offer a dazzling spectacle at the end of the season, and not just because of the colour of the foliage. Choose from bushes such as Abelias or Rubra strawberry trees, chosen for their colourful and also often fragrant flowering. Like any flowering hedge, these grow more or less freely, with only one annual pruning usually necessary after flowering to contain growth. It can be interesting to mix evergreen and deciduous bushes to prevent your hedge from appearing too bare in winter. Our selection includes varieties ranging from 1 m (3ft) to over 4 m (13ft) in height, to create low, medium or high hedges.
