Description

The Decorosier EMERA 'noatraum' rosebush is covered with small, semi-double flowers in a very fresh fuchsia pink colour, very cheerful, grouped in bouquets of about ten flowers, visited by bees and butterflies. The show is repeated from late spring until autumn, on foliage that remains impeccable throughout the season. With a dense, well-covering vegetation, it provides an exceptional, almost permanent decoration while requiring very little maintenance. Easy, generous, full of freshness, it is suitable for large borders and informal flower beds, where it creates a spectacular mass effect.

The DECOROSIERS are shrub roses with a spreading habit. They can be used in many ways: lawn edging, flower beds, slopes or planters. They can be planted in any type of soil, in full sun or partial shade. They offer long exceptional flowering periods on healthy, shiny, semi-evergreen foliage. Their qualities have been rewarded with 8 gold medals and 6 ADR labels. Naturally resistant to diseases, they do not require any treatment.

The 'Emera' (noatraum) rosebush was the first in the excellent range of Decorosiers. It is classified as a modern, shrub and landscape rose. Its clustered flowers come from the Polyantha rose, an old hybrid derived from Rosa multiflora and Rosa chinensis. The plant forms a very dense bush of about 70 cm (28in) in height and 50-60 cm (20-24in) in width, depending on the growing conditions. Very floriferous, it produces an abundance of semi-double to double flowers, measuring 4-5 cm (2in) in diameter, in a bright pink colour. At full bloom, they reveal a dark yellow stamen centre. Its semi-evergreen foliage, very healthy, is composed of small, shiny green leaves that cover thorny stems. This variety adapts to any well-prepared soil.

The Emera rosebush can be used in flower beds, borders, large spaces, slopes, or to create large borders. It adapts to all soils that are not too wet and to all climates. It has a bushy growth habit that works wonders in low shrub borders, alongside other Decorosiers such as Mareva, Opalia. When planted en masse, it will edge pathways and highlight flower beds. It can also be combined with perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), campanulas (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, lavenders... Left to grow freely, it will form a very natural-looking bush, perfect for filling a beautiful planter on the patio.

ADR is the label of the German Federation of Rose Breeders. The ADR designation is only given to varieties that have passed the strictest tests in the world. The plants are simultaneously tested at 10 different locations, in various soil and climate conditions for several years. The tests focus on hardiness, perennial nature, and flowering, without the use of any pesticides.

Planting and care

How to plant roses.  Work your soil to a depth of 30 cm (12in) x 30 cm (12in), crumbling the soil well and adding an amendment such as bonemeal at the bottom of the planting hole. Prepare a mound of soil at the bottom of the hole. Prepare a bucket of thick mud with water and soil. Dip your plant in the mud to coat the roots and eliminate air bubbles (this is called pralinage). Position your plant in the planting hole, spreading out the roots and checking the depth: the graft point should be just above the soil. Fill with soil and gently compact it as you go. Prune the branches to 15/20 cm (6/8in) to stimulate growth. Create a basin at the base of the roses and water abundantly with a fine spray to eliminate air pockets and help the soil adhere to the roots. In very cold regions, it can be useful to mulch with leaves or turf up to 20 cm (8in) at the base of your plants. Decorative roses do not require pruning. However, it is possible to prune them in spring by cutting back the branches by half. In summer, removing faded flowers will stimulate the growth of new flowers. Naturally resistant to diseases, they do not require fungicidal treatments.

Roses are often stained or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These stains are not harmful to the rose, as it is a natural phenomenon.
