Our range of Calamintha seeds (Calamintha nepeta). In the garden, these aromatic and homey-producing plants attract pollinators. Calamintha is a perennial plant of the Lamiaceae family, appreciated for its small tubular flowers, usually ranging from white to pale lilac, blooming from summer to autumn. The 'Marvelette Blue' variety is prized for its foliage with a strong sweet and menthol scent and its small flowers of intense violet-blue. Its white version, Calamintha nepeta 'Marvelette White' has a lovely compact habit and well-distributed flowers on its floral stems.
Calament forms dense and compact clumps, reaching about 30 to 50 cm in height. Its oval and slightly toothed leaves are extremely aromatic. This small perennial plant forms a true white cloud between summer and autumn. Its flowers are small but abundant and particularly attract bees and butterflies. Calamintha is an ecological plant that has its place in a natural garden.
Calamintha thrives in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil, even poor or chalky. Once established, it tolerates drought well. Seed germination may be a bit slow, best results are achieved by indoor sowing in spring before transplanting outdoors.
