Our range of Woodland Sages. Salvia nemorosa, or woodland sage, is a hardy perennial with colourful flower spikes and aromatic foliage. The most famous variety, 'Caradonna', is remarkable with its purple stems and intensely violet flowers. The 'Mainacht' sage, particularly floriferous, offers intense blue-violet flowers from June to September. 'Ostfriesland' is compact and stands out with its blue-violet flowers on short stems, while 'Amethyst' seduces with its pale mauve spikes with pink highlights. 'Sensation Deep Blue' offers very intense dark blue flowers, ideal for a striking contrast in flower beds. 'Rose Queen', on the other hand, enchants with its soft pink flowers that brighten up the garden.

Woodland sage (Salvia nemorosa) is a herbaceous perennial of the Lamiaceae family that forms upright flower spikes. It usually reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm and blooms from June to September. Like all sages, it is a nectar-rich and honey-producing plant.

Woodland sage thrives in sunny flower beds where it adds colour throughout the summer. Hardy and easy to grow, it prefers well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant. Prune faded flower heads to encourage continuous flowering and water in a marked drought.
