Polyscias filicifolia - Fern leaf aralia

The Polyscias filicifolia, which belongs to the Araliaceae family, is a cousin of the Aralia and ivies, also known as the Fern-leaf False Aralia. It is a botanical species native to New Caledonia and New Guinea in Oceania. This bush grows naturally in humid tropical forests, often in the shade of large trees, where it thrives in a warm and humid environment. This natural context explains its adaptation to shaded spaces and its ability to flourish under indirect light, typical of tropical undergrowth. As an indoor plant, this evergreen bush can reach a height of 1 to 2 metres. Its habit is upright and rather narrow, with a trunk and ramified stems. Its bright light green foliage is dense yet delicately divided. The Polyscias filicifolia grows relatively slowly, making it an excellent choice for spaces where vegetation needs to be controlled. Its flowering is very subtle and occurs in early summer, but is rare indoors. Its ideal temperature ranges between 17 and 24°C. Unlike other species in the same genus, the Polyscias filicifolia is non-toxic.
