Description

The Epipremnum 'N'joy' is a variegated foliage variety of Pothos. The 'N'joy' features beautifully contrasted heart-shaped, variegated medium green and white leaves on a liana with fairly rapid growth. Easy to grow, epipremnums are not demanding when it comes to light conditions, from moderate to bright (without direct sunlight). However, this variegated variety prefers good light to thrive.

Native to the islands of French Polynesia, the Epipremnum aureum is a climbing species belonging to the Araceae family, which uses its aerial roots to cling to tree trunks and rocks. In its humid tropical habitat, this epiphytic plant can reach up to 20 m in height by wrapping around tree branches and other epiphytes thanks to its aerial roots. Many cultivars specifically bred for the houseplant market derive from this species, including the 'N'joy'.

The Epipremnum aureum 'N'joy', also known as Pothos Enjoy and Scindapsus N'Joy, is a perennial plant that forms lianas which can be trained to climb up a support or left to trail from a pot or hanging basket. Under good growing conditions, it can reach impressive lengths, with some covering a wall and then a ceiling with their favourite pothos. Its growth is fairly rapid, initially forming a plant 30 cm wide and 50 to 60 cm long, reaching 90 cm wide and 3 m long where it thrives. This generous liana gradually develops small cordate, lightly glossy, randomly speckled, smooth, green and white textured leaves.

The Epipremnum 'N'joy' is a rewarding, undemanding, bright and ornamental plant perfectly suited to beginners, quickly forming a beautiful specimen that can be left to cascade from a hanging pot or trained to climb up a trellis or wall with supports. Pair it with other plants from the Araceae family such as anthuriums and syngoniums, or with other epipremnum cultivars with plain foliage or other variegations, creating lovely contrasts and an elegant, exotic atmosphere. Consider, for example, the 'Cebu Blue' with its elongated, perforated leaves and bluish reflections.
