Description

Ajuga pyramidalis is a semi-evergreen perennial with non-stoloniferous rosettes of dark green leaves. In late spring, the rosette rises like a small pyramid and bears pale blue flowers surrounded by decorative purple bracts.

Ajuga are good perennial plants. They are very hardy. They are often stoloniferous, some of which quickly form beautiful dense mats in the shade or in cool partial shade in humus-rich soil. They are not demanding on the nature of the soil, but do not tolerate prolonged drought well.

Plant it in moist but well-drained stony soil without limestone. Cultivation is more challenging than it seems. Ajuga pyramidalis tolerates drought more than others.
