Honka dahlias, with their beautiful star-shaped flowers measuring 8 to 10cm (3 to 4in), featuring delicate, incurved and detached petals, are making a comeback. Sometimes grouped with decorative dahlias, they stand tall on stems ranging from 60cm (24in) to 1m (3ft), and their long, well-cut petals, usually numbering 8, are sometimes compared to windmills. Honka dahlias with their simple forms harmonize beautifully with grasses and asters that accompany them at the end of flowering. They also make excellent "landscape dahlias".
