Miniature Dahlias

Miniature Dahlias are very popular dwarf dahlias, measuring about 40-50 cm (16-20in) high whose flowers are single heads measuring less than 5 cm (2in) in diameter. These diversely coloured, vibrant or pastel varieties are ideal for brightening borders and containers throughout the summer. The colour of the ligules, or petals, is very varied, from white to purple, encompassing the entire range of pinks, from the palest yellow ('Taxi Driver') to orange and salmon. The Dahlias from the 'Topmix' series offer almost all colours: pink ('Topmix Pink'), red ('Topmix Red''), white ('Topmix White''), yellow... Their flowers renew themselves from July to October on a densely leafy plant, enhanced by beautiful dark green foliage. True stars of borders in sunny locations and essential in cottage gardens, Dahlias also make charming cut flowers. To extend the flowering of your dahlias until late summer, make bouquets and regularly remove faded flowers.
