Description

Lovely species forming slowly expanding clumps of tight cushions. Ovate and pointed foliage, with a matte bluish-green colour, evergreen throughout the winter.

The small bright blue flowers, with a small white eye, strongly resemble those of forget-me-nots and are even a little larger.

Planting and care

These excellent plants, all perennials except one, are very easy to grow in a fresh soil, even clayey and damp. We have planted them in the rockery, in a rather dry, slightly limestone soil, alongside wallflowers and Sedum; then in a heavy, clayey and acidic soil, in a completely shaded location alongside lungworts and daffodils. They seem to adapt perfectly to these two radically opposite situations and thrive there without any special care. Remove the foliage damaged by cold and rain at the end of winter so that the plant looks beautiful from the beginning of spring.
