Excellent recovery, and after a small blooming, the summer went very well for it despite the drought. Its shady and cool location seems to suit it perfectly. Full of promising buds for next spring, I'm excited to see its growth and blooming. Very satisfied with this plant, much less so with the received clematis, which are struggling to recover because they are too weak.

Description

The Schisandra rubriflora is part of a little-known climbing plant genus with a magnificent flowering of carmine red, followed by bright red fruiting, which is very attractive.

This small vine from the edge of the undergrowth has an original flowering, as it bears trailing carmine red flowers that appear in May-June. This is followed by a fruiting in the form of edible berries with medicinal properties, bright red, which are nicknamed the fruit with five flavours. The foliage is dense, and the maximum height of the Schisandra rubriflora is 3 to 5m (10 to 16ft).

The Schisandra rubriflora is a dioecious species; to obtain a good fruiting, multiple plants of different sexes are required. This climbing plant is not difficult to maintain, but it appreciates a rich and moist soil. Pruning can be done after flowering to highlight the fruits.
