Description

We offer you the "Two Months of Red Tulips" collection for uninterrupted flowering from March to May. Composed of three carefully chosen varieties for their complementarity, it combines the early blooming of the 'Petit Chaperon Rouge' Botanical Tulip with the splendour of the 'Sevilla' Triumph Tulip and the late elegance of the 'Kingsblood' Tulip. You will plant the bulbs in the autumn in well-drained soil and in a sunny location.

The collection consists of:

10 'Petit Chaperon Rouge' Greigii Botanical Tulips: an early and compact variety, reaching a height of 35 cm. Its bright red, shiny flowers bloom from March. Its decorative foliage is marbled with purple-brown.

10 'Sevilla' Triumph Tulips: a variety with a height of 45 cm, with flamboyant orange-red flowers and perfectly curved corollas. It blooms in April, in the heart of spring.

10 Late Single Tulips 'Kingsblood': this 60 cm tulip is the tallest and the last to bloom, in May. Its large cherry red to dark carmine red flowers are borne on sturdy stems, perfect for bouquets.

Bulbs packaged and labelled separately.

Tulip bulbs are planted in the autumn, between September and November, in well-drained soil enriched with compost. For a harmonious effect in flower beds, place the 'Kingsblood' Tulips at the back, their tall stems will form a dramatic backdrop. In front, plant the 'Sevilla' Tulips and finally, place the 'Petit Chaperon Rouge' Tulips at the edge, where their smaller size and early flowering will be highlighted. Maintain a spacing of 10-15 cm between each bulb. Plan for approximately 40 bulbs per m² for a dense effect.

To enhance this "Two Months of Red Tulips" collection, choose complementary plants in terms of colour and texture: the 'Purple Sensation' Ornamental Garlic, which blooms in May-June and can be planted in the background, the 'Wulfenii' Euphorbia with its acidic green tones that create an elegant contrast, and the 'Blue Sylva' Forget-me-nots at the edge, with their small blue flowers that will enhance the red of the tulips. Plant 5 Alliums per m², 3 euphorbias in a group, and 10 forget-me-nots at the edge for a balanced composition.

Planting and care

Plant your tulips as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15 cm (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and allow the leaves to dry completely before cutting them.
