Our range of Episcias, tropical plants prized for their decorative foliage and delicate flowering. The best-known is the Episcia cupreata with its velvety leaves featuring coppery reflections and small tubular scarlet-red flowers. Episcias are perennial plants from the Gesneriaceae family, native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, close relatives of saintpaulias. They are distinguished by their velvety and colourful foliage often adorned with silver, coppery, or brown patterns, and their small tubular red, pink, or yellow flowers. These compact, stoloniferous, creeping, or trailing plants make a striking impact in hanging baskets or terrariums.
Episcias require filtered light and high ambient humidity. These plants thrive in light, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Water them sparingly to avoid excess moisture, and ensure the temperature remains above 18°C.
