With their elegant rosette leaves and spectacular bracts, these bromeliads bring a touch of jungle to your decor. The iconic Vriesea 'Favoriet' charms with its striped leaves and orange-yellow bracts, while the 'Ida' produces an intense pink inflorescence. Among the must-have species, you'll also find the Vriesea hieroglyphica, famous for its leaves adorned with patterns reminiscent of hieroglyphs, as well as the Vriesea fosteriana, a compact plant with undulate silver-green leaves. Closely related to Guzmania and Tillandsia, the Vriesea genus belongs to the Bromeliaceae family; it originates from the tropical forests of Central and South America. Most Vriesea are epiphytic plants that grow up trees. Lacking any roots, they receive all their nutrients from the small 'reservoir' formed by the leaf rosette.
