Our Polaskia collection featuring columnar cacti grown indoors for their exotic charm and striking appearance. The Polaskia chichipe boasts decorative green-gray columns. Placed near a well-lit window, it grows slowly and maintains a compact size in pots. The rarer Polaskia grandiflora catches the eye with its large nocturnal white flowers, a true indoor curiosity.
Polaskias belong to the Cactaceae family. This genus which includes only two species originates from the arid regions of Mexico. This cactus features ribbed, upright stems covered in small thorny areoles. Under the right growing conditions, it produces often subtle and tubular cream to yellowish-white flowers adapted for nocturnal pollination by bats and insects.
Polaskias prefer bright light, even full sun, and well-drained soil. Water sparingly, allowing the substrate to dry thoroughly between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to ensure their dormancy period.
