Our range of Eucalyptus gunnii. Also known as cider gum, this Eucalyptus native to Tasmania is a hardy tree ideal for bringing a touch of exoticism to the garden. It bears evergreen decorative blue-green foliage, composed of rounded juvenile leaves that elongate as they mature. This species has produced some interesting cultivars such as Eucalyptus gunnii 'Azura', valued for its compact habit and good cold resistance (-15°C for the stump). 'France Bleu' stands out for its silvery grey foliage and compact habit suitable for small gardens. The Gunn eucalyptus tolerates pruning well, allowing it to be maintained as a bush if necessary.
Easy to grow, Eucalyptus gunnii thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Hardy to -12/-15°C depending on the varieties, it may still suffer from severe frosts. Regular watering is recommended during the first years of planting. Its rapid growth is a real asset for creating a vegetal screen or simply adding a Mediterranean touch to the garden.
