Description

This Spring Bulb Inspiration in shades of purple, red, and white showcases two varieties of tulips in vibrant red and purple, as well as a fragrant variety of narcissus with small white and yellow flowers. All these bulbs, which bloom between late March and May, create an elegant and dynamic display in borders, flower beds, and containers.

The selection consists of:

- 10 x Triumph Tulips 'Match': A particularly bright flower. Its distinctly two-tone corolla is predominantly bright pink-red with a pale yellow base. A mid-season variety, with a long stem of 50 cm.

- 10 x Triumph Tulip 'Jan Reus': A reliable choice! Sought after for its elegance and vibrancy. Its narrow, velvety burgundy red corolla stands atop a thick and sturdy stem of 45 cm.

- 10 x Narcissus 'Ségovia': It blooms as early as the end of March. Its small flowers, which emit an intoxicating fragrance, consist of a wide-open white perianth and a small yellow crown. They are perched on long stems of 15-20 cm.

Individually labelled.

This selection has a great impact in borders, rockeries, and flower beds. Composed of hardy and faithful bulbs, it will establish itself for many years and bloom joyfully every spring. It can also be beautifully displayed in pots or containers, enhancing balconies and terraces. It is also ideal for creating elegant bouquets.

After flowering, the foliage of tulips and narcissus becomes unsightly and disappears. We recommend planting, for example, Heuchera 'Coral Sea', tiarellas 'Morning Star', and brunneras in the foreground of your flower beds. The foliage of these lovely perennials will enhance the colours of your bulbs, and during the season, they will elegantly conceal their yellowing leaves.

Very easy to grow in well-drained soil, these bulbs prefer sunny exposures. Plant them at a depth of 10 cm and spaced 10 cm apart. Group them in minimum clusters of 5 bulbs, in uniform colour patches or mixed. You can also plant them in the lawn. In this case, lift the turf, dig and loosen the soil to a depth of at least 20 cm (the height of a spade). Plant your bulbs, cover with soil, and replace the turf. Choose a spot where you won't mow, as it is necessary to let the leaves wither before cutting them. However, remember to remove the flowers as soon as they fade to prevent seed formation, which would unnecessarily deplete the bulb.

Planting and care

Plant your bulbs as soon as possible in well-drained, light soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 10 cm (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny exposure for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them.
