Special early crop forcing film 2 x 5 m (16ft) CLIMAFILM

The CLIMAFILM early forcing film is specifically designed for amateur gardeners growing vegetables or strawberries. It allows for an earlier start to cultivation and extends harvests, while promoting plant productivity. It is easily set up on hoops to create a forcing tunnel that protects plants from weather. Dimensions: 5m (16ft) in length by 2m (7ft) in width. UV-treated, it can be reused for several years. Hoops and fasteners sold separately.

This forcing film is made of transparent polyethylene with a thickness of 50 microns, which gives it a respectable resistance to mechanical shocks and good thermal performance while maintaining a reasonable weight. It also provides an effective physical barrier against wind and hail showers. Thanks to this film, the heat accumulated during the day, mainly at ground level, will be released to the seeds or plants during the night, which activates germination, growth, flowering, and fruit ripening. UV-treated for better resistance to sun and weather, it can be reused for several years.

Sowing and growing frost-sensitive plants can be done in place very early in the spring (more or less depending on the region), as long as you have an efficient forcing film. This very simple device will allow for earlier season harvesting, as well as a longer period of harvesting vegetables such as leeks or lettuces. This method of cultivation is suitable for sowing carrots, lettuce, radishes, as well as creating strawberry beds. Attach this forcing film to hoops, and install it sheltered from the wind and in full sun. Remember to water and ventilate from time to time, especially if the sun is generous.
