Planting and care

Heuchera, Tiarella, Mitella, Tolmiaea, and Tellima are all perennial plants, very similar to each other, all originating from North America, and all endowed with excellent hardiness. The Heucheras, in particular, like a fresh, moist soil, but rich in humus in shade or semi-shade. They don't really enjoy dry and poor soils, even if they can tolerate occasional summer drought. Irreplaceable in borders of woodlands where their often evergreen foliage in winter and their small size allow them to occupy the foreground.
