Hydrangeas are deciduous bushes that offer an impressive summer flowering, which, depending on the varieties, can be spherical, flat or in conical panicles. They declinate into soft shades, often blue, mauve, pink or white. To obtain beautiful blue flowers, the bush must be grown in acidic soil. If your soil is calcareous, they are more likely to turn pink. In case of calcareous ground, it is therefore better to grow them in pots, in a mix of heather soil, compost and potting soil. Thus, acidity of this substrate will allow you to enjoy a beautiful blue flowering. In the garden, hydrangeas with blue flowers are perfect in cottage gardens and natural-style gardens. It is a soft, soothing shade that pairs beautifully with the green of the foliage. Depending on variety and pH, this shade can be light, pastel, or intense and dark, almost purple.
