The 'Doba' variety, like most plants in the Inticancha® series, is particularly easy to grow in good horticultural compost. Within a few months, it forms bushy clumps of leafy stems, reaching 30 to 40 cm in height when in flower and about 30 cm wide. Its flowering is continuous from June to October and abundant. The elegant, deep red flowers bloom in clusters at the tips of the stems. Their velvety petals, marked with delicate dark streaks on the upper petals, have an exotic charm. Each plant can produce at least 30 flowers. The foliage, concentrated on the upper part of the stems, disappears in winter. Only the running crown with fleshy roots remains underground. This can be sensitive to transplant shock, especially in older plants. 'Doba' is hardy down to -8/-10°C and returns faithfully each year, provided it has well-drained soil and good winter protection, such as mulching, in cold climates.
Alstroemeria Inticancha® Doba is perfect for creating beautiful bouquets and generous flowering containers on the terrace or balcony. It can also be used as a border plant with perennial sages like 'Mainacht' and Nepeta mussinii. On the balcony, this variety pairs well with other Inticancha series varieties ('Passion', 'Moon', Maya).
Note: Please be aware that our plug plants are products intended for experienced gardeners. Upon receipt, transplant and store them under cover (conservatory, greenhouse, cold frame...) at a temperature above 14°C for a few weeks before moving them outdoors once the risk of frost has completely passed.
