Discover our selection!
Contents
Hydrangeas, or Hydrangea, are bushes that offer long-lasting flowering, often between June and September, in form of spherical, flattened or paniculate inflorescences. Their flowering is often very impressive and generous. They form a diverse group, bringing together many species and varieties that offer different flowering forms, for example Hydrangea macrophylla, Hydrangea paniculata and Hydrangea serrata. Some varieties are even climbing! Hydrangea flowers generally display soft hues: blue, mauve, pink, white… Varieties with white flowers are particularly elegant and graceful. These qualities make them ideal to integrate into romantic or modern gardens, where they will bring a very chic touch. They create contrast, for example alongside plants with dark or black leaves. Hydrangeas with white flowers are very easy to combine with other colourful flowerings, but can also be included in composition of a white garden, accompanied for example by Gypsophila, Achillea ptarmica ‘The Pearl’, Clematis ‘Baby Star’ or Digitalis purpurea ‘Alba’. These white flowerings will have the advantage of reflecting light and illuminating the darkest areas of your garden. Discover in this fact sheet our selection of 7 varieties among the most beautiful hydrangeas with white flowers!

Sterile flowers are large, well developed, and consist of narrow, incurved bracts, which give them a rather original star-shaped form. Moreover, it tolerates drought quite well. Hydrangea 'Runaway Bride'
Hydrangea ‘Runaway Bride’ is a recent introduction, which was awarded at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2018! It flowers from July to October and produces white flowers, composed of four bracts with a dentate edge. They are distributed along the stems rather than gathered into large terminal inflorescences as with other hydrangeas. Flowering of this variety is incredibly light and delicate! Stems are fairly spreading, even slightly trailing, giving an original short stem of bulb appearance. This hydrangea remains relatively small: its dimensions do not exceed 1 m in any direction. It is ideal in a pot, to adorn a terrace or balcony! For more information on this variety, discover Ingrid’s article on our blog!

‘Wedding Gown’ is an original hydrangea that offers very romantic flowering! Inflorescences consist of small fertile greenish flowers and larger sterile florets. These florets are pure white and form small double stars, composed of bracts inserted in several ranks. Flowering is initially white, then takes on a pink tinge, later becoming red in late summer – early autumn. It is nicely set off by dark green foliage. This is a fairly compact variety, not exceeding 1.20 m in height and spread.
