The Garrya elliptica is an evergreen bush that stands out for its long, greyish-white aments, which are borne at the tips of branches throughout winter. Depending on the region, its flowers bloom from February to March, and they sometimes appear just after Christmas.
This bush is one of the few plants that can flower properly in winter, even in cold regions; its flowers do bloom, but be cautious—although hardy, it does not tolerate wet winters well. Therefore, it is recommended to plant it in well-draining soil and in a sheltered spot to fully enjoy its unique flowering throughout winter!
